As a mother, I think that the best Mother’s Day present is actually time spent together in a relaxing way. That is free! So everyone can breathe a sigh of relief and just plan some fun! Let’s face it, pulling time out of our busy schedules to just sit and listen to what Mom really wants to talk about, well, it can sometimes be hard to do. So this Mother’s Day, plan ahead and get ready mentally to just have fun with your mom and not worry about everything you think you should be doing. Cook Together
Time spent together in a relaxing way can mean a lot of different things to different people. For some that may mean preparing a meal together or baking. My mom loves to cook, but not by herself! She likes me to be her little helper. Why not? It is fun creating something together and then enjoying the fruits of your combined labor as you eat together. If your mother loves cooking with family, this Mother’s Day plan a menu, bring over some groceries and get busy making a memorable Mother’s Day meal together.
For other moms, the idea of cooking on Mother’s Day is a drag! That is why you have to know your mom to pick the activity that she will enjoy most.
Craft Together
Some moms love crafting but just can’t seem to find the time. Why not plan a craft, bring supplies, and craft together to her hearts content? There are so many awesome DIY craft idea, or small home decorations projects that you can discover on Pinterest if you need a little inspiration.
Explore Outdoors Together
Maybe your mom is the outdoors type? Would she enjoy a picnic in the park or a trip to a local garden center? Is she the type to want to relax in nature or would she enjoy planting a bed of flowers together? There are so many fun ways to get out and have fun in nature- take a hike or go canoeing.
Get Pampered Together
You know your mom best so plan an activity that will fit her interests whether it is a trip to the mall or get a pedicure together. Make a DIY face mask and then sit back and chat while you wait for it to soak in.
