Cute DIY Thanksgiving Table Decor: Turkey Silverware Holders

Dress up the kids table at Thanksgiving (or even the grown ups table) with this cute Turkey Utensil Pocket craft. This Thanksgiving silverware holder really adds some fun color to your holiday table. This is a great Thanksgiving craft to spread out and do with the kids. You can help your kids with the simple sewing and let them do the rest in an assembly line fashion. They can even label the DIY Thanksgiving cutlery holders with names instead of place cards for complete place settings, if you so desire.  Learning to set the table with pride is a great experience for kids. Are you hosiThese cute turkey crafts are a fun way to make the table decor pop and a great way to work together with your kids on a functional craft. Accomplishing a project together will make you all shine with pride as your guests gather around your Thanksgiving table and enjoy the festive decor.

Craft Supplies Needed:

  • brown paper lunch bags
  • craft feathers
  • wine cork (If you don’t have wine corks on hand for cork thanksgiving crafts, you can use craft foam cut into circles for turkey heads.)
  • orange and red craft foam
  • googly eyes
  • hot glue gun/glue or craft glue
  • sewing machine/thread

How To Make Thanksgiving Utensil Holder For Fun Table Decor:

Fold bag so that the flat part that would normally be the bottom is inside the fold, you want this to be about a 4” pocket.

Sew ⅛” from the edge of bag all the way around, trim off excess threads.

Cut ¼” slices off cork for heads.

Assemble turkeys-securing to bag with hot or craft glue if the kids are doing it. Spread feathers out across pocket, top with cork slices, wiggle craft eyes, and finally a beak and waddle cut from craft foam. Each one can be a unique work of art.

Slide silverware or plastic ware and a napkin in turkey utensil pocket and you are done with your Thanksgiving Craft!
