Valentine’s Day is coming up soon and what better way to decorate your dining room than a little DIY project. This is such an easy craft yet so elegant. This great centerpiece was originally published February 1, 2015. I have added a few ideas for your Valentines day table setting and shared it here for my newer readers to enjoy.

Pretty Table Decorations For Valentine’s Day:

Here are some ideas to help you create stunning Valentine’s Day table decor:

  1. Color Scheme: Choose a color scheme that evokes romance. Traditional Valentine’s Day colors include shades of red, pink, white, and gold. You can also incorporate accents of silver or deep purple for a more modern twist.
  2. Tablecloth and Runner: Start by laying down a tablecloth in a solid color or a subtle pattern that complements your color scheme. Add a table runner in a contrasting color or a delicate lace fabric. Table runners add texture and visual interest.
  3. Centerpiece: Create a focal point for your table with a romantic centerpiece. We will be providing the step-by-step instructions for making your very own centerpiece in the next part of this article. It will be a pretty floral inspired centerpiece with a glass candle holder and pillar candle at the center. A Candle will add warmth and intimacy to your table decor with a soft, romantic glow. Fresh flowers can also make a beautiful centerpeice.
  4. Place Settings: Set the table with elegant dinnerware, including plates, glasses, and silverware. Consider using special dishes or flatware reserved for special occasions like Valentine’s Day. You can tie satin ribbons around the napkins or add personalized name cards to each place setting for an extra touch of sophistication.
  5. Table Decorations: Sprinkle heart-shaped confetti or rose petals around the table for a whimsical touch. You can also incorporate other Valentine’s Day-themed decorations like heart-shaped balloons, garlands, or small figurines.

Tutorial For Valentines Day Centerpiece With Candle

Ready to get started on your Valentine’s tablescape? All of these simple centerpiece craft supplies can be purchased at your local craft store or dollar store.

Craft Supplies:

  • Small grapevine wreath
  • Red or pink faux flowers
  • Crystals
  • Candle holder
  • Candle
  • Glue gun

Instead of fake flowers, you could use fresh pink roses if you wanted to be extra fancy. However, then you would need to do this DIY Valentine centerpiece project shortly before dinner and it would only last for the evening.

How To Make A Table Centerpiece For Valentine’s Day:

  1. Cut the flowers off of the stem. Make sure you leave some stem to stick into the wreath.
  2. Using the glue gun put some glue on the ends of the flower stems and stick them into the wreath. Place the flowers going in the same direction.Grape vine wreath with red flowers and crystals
  3. The crystals I found were just like the flowers. They should be connected to a wire stem. Do the same and cut them off of the main stem. You may need wire cutters.
  4. Again use the glue gun and glue the crystal stems into the wreath. Go in the same direction as the flowers.Valentine's Day CenterPiece
  5. Place the candle holder in the center of the wreath and the candle inside the holder. The centerpiece should be placed in the center of the table, of course.Valentine's Day Center Piece
  6. Light the candle and enjoy a candle lit Valentine’s Day dinner!

The Valentine’s Day centerpiece is also perfect DIY decoration for Valentine’s Day parties.  Do you plan to throw a party, have a romantic dinner for two, or celebrate with the kids?  Any way around it, Valentine’s Day is great time to remember all those we love and show them how much we appreciate having them in our lives.

Conclusion

Now that your Table Decorations For Valentine’s Day are all ready, let love fill the air. Set the mood with soft lighting and background music. Dim the overhead lights and opt for soft, ambient lighting from candles or string lights. Choose romantic music or create a playlist of your favorite songs to play in the background. You may even want to add extra personal touches to your table decor to make it feel more special. Write love notes to each other and place them under the dinner plates or scatter them around the table. You could also include small gifts or favors for your partner to discover throughout the meal.

Happy valentine’s day! How are you celebrating Valentine’s Day this year? Do you enjoy making your own Valentine’s Day table decor? Would you make this Valentine’s Day centerpiece? If you do, make sure to share pictures of your Valentine’s Day tablescape with us @familyfocusblog!

Your blog is a constant source of inspiration for me. I love these table decoration ideas for Valentine’s day. I made the centerpiece as you directed but I used white flowers. Very pretty! Then I made different colors of paper conversation hearts to sprinkle around the table.

You always provide such valuable information, I appreciate it. I love to mixed pretty plates with red napkins for a festive touch! The heart garland is such a sweet idea—perfect for Valentine’s Day and even as a fun decor piece for the rest of the year. I’ve found some great china patterns at home goods, but I also love the budget-friendly idea of using Dollar Tree finds.
