Philips Wake-up Light is clinically proven to provide a more energetic wake-up in the morning.
Yes, that is right, the Philips Wake-Up Light is currently the only wake-up light clinically proven to work. That is a huge benefit so you can bet we were excited to try the Philips Wake-up Light Colored Sunrise Simulation ourselves. But how does it do it?
Designed To Mimic A Sunrise
Designed to mimic a sunrise, the Philips Wake-Up Light simulates a sunrise with the light moving from red to orange to yellow and slowly gets brighter. You just set it for 30 minutes prior to your desired wake-up time. The result is a gentle and refreshing wake-up experience that gradually raises you out of sleep – instead of a jarring alarm clock or a bright overhead light. This natural wake-up is designed in order to leave you feeling more effective and alert.
Sound Therapy
The Philips Wake-up Light Colored Sunrise Simulation is not just a light. It also offers sound therapy. It has 5 different natural wake up sounds to choose from- Bird Song, Birds in the forest, Zen Garden, Gentle piano and Seaside Sounds. The natural selected sound gradually increases in volume to your selected level within one and a half minutes for a more refreshing waking noise that the BEEP, BEEP, of most alarms. In addition, it is a super cool looking alarm clock to that has a ton of awesome features.
There are touch sensitive controls right there on the face of the Philips Wake Up Light. You can use these to set the clock, alarms, listen to the radio, use it as a reading lamp, choose natural wake-up sounds, snooze, or select light brightness settings to fit your personal preference. Philips Wake Up Light Review HF3520/60
We were totally excited to give the Philips Wake-up Light Colored Sunrise Simulation a try. It arrived in a box about the size of a toaster. My 11 year old daughter took off with it to her room and started setting it up immediately. It is not difficult to use and it does come with clear instructions.
She was so excited about the sunrise and sunset simulation. I have to admit I was too. There is just something awesome about being able to make the sun rise right in your hands!
I can tell you that from Day 1, it works. I went in to get her up for school but she was already awake and dressed. She was also more responsive to my questions about what she wanted for breakfast. I was surprised at how quickly the Philips Wake-up Light Colored Sunrise Simulation affected her whole wake-up routine. However, it really has made it way easier for her to get out of bed in the morning and she just looks so much more awake and less draggy and grumpy. I notice a big difference. In fact, independent research* shows that 92% of Philips Wake-up light users find it is easier to get out of bed (Metrixlab 2011, N=209). Now, we just need to get another so I can try it too!
The Philips Wake-up Light Colored Sunrise Simulation can also work backward for a sunset simulation and it helps put her to sleep too. This is the part I was most pleasantly surprised about. She always gets a little wired at night with a second wind of energy and she decided to test out. I am so happy that it is helping her go to sleep and feel less restless at night. The sunset simulation prepares your body to fall asleep by gradually decreasing light and sound to your set duration. Even the face of the display adjusts so that when the bedroom is dark the brightness dims so that it doesn’t light up your bedroom when you are trying to sleep. I love hearing less little padding feet in the hallway after I tuck her in.
Where to Buy A Wake-Up Light
I am happy to say that the Philips Wake-up Light really has helped my daughter to “Rise & Thrive” and as well as “Relax & Sleep”! And all through natural sunrise and sunset simulation. It is cool that she can have access to that at any time of the morning or night. I love that the Philips Wake-up Light Colored Sunrise Simulation works around her schedule on weekdays and on the weekend. She can adjust it and get more sleep on days that permit and still wake up refreshed on early days. Are you ready for Philips to change your expectations?

Conclusion
The Philips Wake-Up Light is a popular line of alarm clocks designed to simulate a natural sunrise and sunset to help users wake up and fall asleep more gently. Instead of a traditional alarm that abruptly wakes you up with noise, the Wake-Up Light uses light therapy to mimic the natural dawn, gradually brightening over a period of time (usually 20 to 40 minutes) before your set wake-up time. This gradual increase in light intensity is meant to stimulate your body’s natural wake-up process, encouraging the production of cortisol (the “awake” hormone) and reducing the production of melatonin (the “sleep” hormone), which can help you feel more refreshed and alert when you wake up. You are going to love it.
The Philips Wake-up Light premium model uses a wide range of colors in light to closely simulate a natural sunrise and sunset, making waking up and falling asleep easier and more relaxing. Do want to give the Philips Wake-up Light Colored Sunrise Simulation a try help you conquer those essential morning tasks feeling more refreshed?
