Bai Brands is a beverage company founded in 2009 by entrepreneur Ben Weiss in Princeton, New Jersey. The company specializes in creating low-calorie, antioxidant-infused drinks that are sweetened with natural ingredients like erythritol and stevia leaf extract. I am happy to share that I was provided with a Bai antioxidant infusion beverage variety pack in order to facilitate a Bai drink review.

About The Bai Antioxidant Infusion Drinks

5 reasons to love bai5

Did you know that coffee fruit, the casing that surrounds the coffee bean, is an antioxidant powerhouse?  Well, I didn’t either.  In case you are wondering, antioxidants are natural substances found in healthy foods and drinks that fight free radicals and stop the damaging process of obaixidation by battling against cellular damage.  The original Bai 5 drinks are made to capitalize on the coffee fruit natural antioxidants; bai mixes in some exotic fruit juices to create a great-tasting, healthful beverage.

The name bai – the Mandarin word for “pure” – was chosen to represent the simple, natural goodness of a beverage dedicated to fostering great health.

What Are The Bai5 Ingredients?

bai 5 - packed with flavor

My first question was what are the ingredients used in Bai5 antioxidant infusion drinks?  I am always curious to know that!  First let me say that bai5 is 100% natural and it is gluten free.  But you may be wondering how this low calorie drink taste so good. That is want I wanted to know!

I was happy to see that Bai drinks don’t use artificial sweeteners. Bai5 uses a combination of 1 gram of sugar, organic stevia leaf extract (derived from an herb) and Erythritol (made from field corn or wheat) to sweeten bai beverages.  The natural sweeteners used in bai5 are have a low glycemic index – meaning they don’t raise blood sugar levels in the body.

Here are the bai5 ingredients for Limu Lemon (just as an example since there are 8 flavors):

Filtered water, erythritol natural sweetener, lemon juice concentrate, natural flavors, organic coffeefruit, citric acid, organic stevia extract, white tea extract

You may have noticed that the Bai delicious fruity refreshment uses coffeefruit. This sort of makes it a much healthier version of an energy drink because it does provide a natural caffeine boost but not in unhealthy high amounts. The coffee fruit extract provides about a 55 mg of caffeine which is about equivalent to what is in a cup of green tea.

Another bonus? Bai drinks have about 15% of your daily value recommended Vitamin C in each of the 18 fluid ounce bottles.

Bai Antioxidant Infusion Reviews:

Limu Lemon Bai5 review

I tried the variety pack and I liked them all. So did my 6 year old boy. He was always there when I opened one up with a big smile on his face.  Each one had it unique exotic flavor which was not too bold but rather gentle as the juice for the flavor is mixed with water and white tea extract.  When I opened the dragonfuit flavor, my son didn’t want to try it as he had tasted a dragonfruit once before and not liked it.  I told him you should always give things more that one try and this was different anyway.  He took a sip and said, “Stand back. This is all mine.” My daughter who never really cares for more than a taste of juice, did some drinking herself and her favorite was Limu Lemon.

Want to try a variety pack of bai5 drinks yourself?  You can order them online at drinkbai and have your bottle of Bai delivered straight to your door! Or you can buy Bai at Kroger, CVS, Target, or Walmart

Update: Bai vs Bai5

The original Bai antioxidant infusion was called Bai5 antioxidant infusion. This was because it is about 5 calories per serving. The new Bai antioxidant infusion is still about 5 calories per serving but I think they stopped calling it Bai5 since there are about 2 servings in every bottle. They are pretty much the same Bai drink, though they did switch 2 flavors out from their original line up (see above). I think the name change may have occurred when they were purchased in 2016 by Dr Pepper Snapple Bottling Group. You may remember the fun Justin Timberlake commercials from this time period.

I dig the delicious hydration and bold flavor of these Bai flavored water drinks with super low sugar content and a bit of a pick me up from the coffeefruit extract. Have you tried this antioxidant beverage yet?

The “Bai Wonder Water” is a flavored water drink that is a healthier, low-calorie beverage with added antioxidants. Bai Water typically comes in various fruit flavors and is sweetened with natural ingredients like stevia.

In 2016, Bai gained significant attention when entertainer Justin Timberlake invested in the company and became its “Chief Flavor Officer.” The following year, Dr Pepper Snapple Group acquired Bai Brands.
