DIY Letter Decor For Walls
Letter Decor Craft Supplies:
- Wooden Letters with picture frame style holes for hanging
- Acrylic paint or spray paint
- Metallic Fine Point Markers
- Gold leaf or glitter
- Natural Peacock Feathers
- Glue gun
- Clear nail varnish or gloss medium
How To Make Homemade Letter Decor For Walls:
1. Choose Letter Color And Create Base Coat
First, choose your color scheme. For my letters I mixed different acrylic paints to get the colors I wanted. After I mixed the colors, I painted the letters. I chose acrylic paint so the brush strokes would be visible. If you want smooth, solid color letters, I would suggest using spray paint instead. Allow letters to dry fully.
2. Select Letter Design
Next, I drew a peacock design in pencil on the letter L and went over the design in gold and silver metallic markers. If you are looking for a design similar to this I would suggest looking up henna tattoo designs so you can pick one you would like to copy or use as inspiration for your DIY letter art.
3. Select Second Letter Design
For the second letter, I used multicolored gold leaf to decorate. First, I used clear nail varnish to stick the leaf to or you could use a gloss medium.
I then used a glue gun to add the peacock feathers to the letter with the leaf in order to tie both letters together.
4. Hang Letters On Wall
Finally, hang you letters on the wall and enjoy!
