Classic chicken Parmesan is one of those favorite family Italian recipes, but who has time to make the traditional time-intensive recipe? With my one-dish version of chicken parmesan, you can easily whip up this casserole style dish. Wait until you smell the aroma of this easy chicken parmesan recipe cooking in the oven. Each bite with robust marinara, oozing cheese and crunchy croutons will win your family over in minutes. Serve with angel hair pasta and use leftovers for a sandwich the next day, if you have any leftovers that is!

What to serve with chicken parmesan casserole?

Chicken parmesan casserole pairs well with a variety of sides to balance out the rich, cheesy flavors. Here are some great options:

  1. Garlic bread – Classic and perfect for soaking up any extra sauce.
  2. Caesar salad – A crisp, refreshing salad with a tangy dressing complements the casserole’s richness.
  3. Roasted vegetables – Try roasting broccoli, zucchini, or asparagus for a healthy side.
  4. Pasta – Serve with a light pasta like spaghetti aglio e olio or simple buttered noodles.
  5. Sauteed spinach – A quick, garlicky sauté of spinach adds a nutritious, earthy contrast.

Conclusion

Chicken Parmesan casserole is a popular dish because it offers several advantages. Casseroles are typically easy to prepare and can be made in advance. Chicken Parmesan casserole simplifies the traditional Chicken Parmesan by layering all the ingredients in one dish. It’s ideal for feeding larger groups or families without having to individually prepare and fry each piece of chicken. Like traditional Chicken Parmesan, the casserole is hearty and satisfying with its rich, cheesy, and saucy layers.

I love the savory chicken mixed with Italian herbs covered in a rich tomato sauce that’s tangy and slightly sweet. Then, of course, there is the cheesy goodness, a combination of mozzarella and Parmesan, creating a gooey, melty top layer. It’s a delicious blend of familiar Italian-inspired flavors with the comfort of a casserole format. This easy recipe has minimal prep work and is perfect for busy weeknights! Even picky eaters love tomato sauce with tender chicken and cheese. This delicious parmesan chicken casserole is sure to be a hit. Serve with a side salad and enjoy!
