With the chilly weather quickly coming in and starting to stick around, kids will need more indoor activity options. If you have a kiddo that loves to craft, this will be really fun for him/her. These easy DIY felt Christmas tree ornaments are so fun to make. My kids loved decorating a handful of these Felt Christmas Ornaments and hanging them on their own little Christmas Trees in their rooms. You probably have everything that you need right in your craft box. We just used what we had on hand and the the kids had so much fun. The best part is that these DIY felt Christmas trees can be decorated with whatever you have lying around! Crafting is a great family Christmas tradition.

Instructions for how to make your DIY Felt Christmas Tree Ornaments:

This is a very hands on activity for the kids! Parents, you may need to cut the tree out (depending on the child’s age) but the rest of the fun is all theirs!! Gather your supplies and head to an open space. We love to spread out on the floor. Grab your felt (all we had was red, grey and white felt). Draw a Christmas Tree on your felt or you can do what I did and you can trace around a cookie cutter! Either way, you need some trees! Once you have drawn a few trees and cut them out, it’s time to decorate your felt Christmas trees.

We grabbed some glitter, a few jewels and foam stickers! Anything works! Let the kids do whatever they’d like to do! Once they are decorated, grab a piece of a pipe cleaner or some string and tape or glue it to the back of the ornament so that they can be hung on the tree.

You can even take several of these cute DIY felt Christmas ornaments and sew them onto a ribbon to create a garland if you like.  The felt Christmas tree garland can then be wrapped around the tree or hung as decor over a doorway.

Great tip! Was thinking of adding something more personalized to our tree and having it as an activity with our little ones. Will definitely add this to our list! 🙂
