3 Inexpensive And Easy Interior Home Decor Ideas To Freshen Up Your Home
The holidays have passed, it’s a new year and, yet, you may still be taking down decorations, tidying up the home and putting it back to everyday living.
With the New Year comes a desire to freshen up your home, however, funds are often tight this time of year. So what are some simple, cost effective interior home decor ideas to update your space that’ll leave you inspired and content? Simple answer: re-style your home.
Here are my top 3 interior home decor ideas to help you re-style your home:
1. Update Interior Home Decor Through Pillows & Textiles
Gather all your trinkets, bowls, collectables, vases, candles, pillows, art and objects into one place. Your home or room should feel a little sparse by this point. Now sift through and decide what you still love and what you can part with (or even sell). Establish a budget for your new purchases and stick to it!
Update your decorative pillows and textiles in your home. You’d be surprised what a few new pillows, bedding or throw blankets can do for the living room and bedrooms. When purchasing a pillow insert I recommend down feather or down alternative, they last longer. Poly/cotton inserts will flatten like a pancake over time.
Favorite Pillow Shops: World Market, Target, At Home, Home Goods, Etsy
2. Add Statement Art To Your Interior Home Decor
Art not only introduces color but also showcases your personality. My first suggestion is to go big or go home (wait, you’re already home, LOL). Oversized art adds drama and that designer touch.
If you can’t afford an oversized art piece, consider doing a gallery wall as shown above. You can include more than just framed art. Add in interesting objects like a clock, paint brushes, woven baskets even a cute hat. Make it a real show-stopper. Just be sure to space everything equal distance apart.
Favorite Art Shops: Target, Minted, Artfully Walls, Etsy, Nashville Flea Market
3. New Vases And Florals Give New Life
This is by far one of my most favorite interior home decor ideas to update a space. Whether or not you add flowers to a vase or just leave them as a decorative object, they are beautiful.
I always say fresh is best, however, don’t discredit faux florals. They have come a long way. The look and feel is so real, you wouldn’t know the difference. Faux florals are great to use if your kids have allergies.
Favorite Vase & Floral Shops: (vases) West Elm, At Home, CB2, Farm House Pottery
(flowers) Hobby Lobby, Trader Joe’s, Nashville’s Import Flowers, Whole Foods
When you’re on a budget, be realistic that not every thing can change but these simple interior home decor ideas will have a huge impact. Don’t forget to gather all your coupons before heading out to shop!
