Today I am going to show you a fun edible wafer flowers craft so you and your kids can have fun playing with your food! It is a super easy and fun edible spring craft project and you can get as creative as you like with it. These edible wafer flowers are perfect for a party spread or just a rainy day craft. This post is brought to you by Voortman and their Inspired by Voortman Wafer Contest. So after you make your own fun twist on edible wafer flowers you can share your creation on Instagram.

Wafer Edible Flowers Craft Inspired By Voortman Wafer Contest

Voortman has been inspired by baking for more than 60 years, making Turnovers, Shortbreads, Wafer cookies and more! I was inspired by their fun contest to come up with a wafer creation. I developed a fun and unique cookie creation using Voortman Wafers around the spring theme.  This time of year, I love watching all the flowers bloom so I decided on edible wafer flowers for a pretty presentation.

Edible Flower Craft Ingredients:

  • Voortman Wafers (Voortman Wafer cookies are available in eighteen different varieties including: Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Lemon, Coconut Crème, Cookies’n Creme, as well as a selection of no sugar added options.)
  • Icing (you can make your own royal icing, buttercream icing, or go easy and get ready decorating cupcake icing)
  • Sprinkles (I used pearl sprinkles)

How To Make Edible Flower Craft

You need a large work space here so go ahead and get out a large tray or platter or you could even use parchment paper so you don’t limit your “canvas”.

Then you can make a little sketch of your flower arrangement on scratch paper or just wing it by arranging the wafers in fun shapes.

You can copy my edible wafer flowers arrangement or create your own. You can keep a flat structure or you can build upwards for 3D fun. Use the whole wafers or cut them up for changing shapes. You can also work with multiple wafer cookie varieties in order to change the colors of your creation.

Inspired By Voortman Wafer Contest

I used Voortman Cookies’n Creme Wafers to create my ground and Voortman Vanilla Wafers to create my flowers.

You see, making edible wafer flowers is easy and fun!

Will you try this edible spring craft? If you put your own original twist on it you can enter the Inspired By Voortman Contest for a chance to win big with your wafer structure or wafer recipe!

Play With Your Food

Playing with food can be a fun and creative activity. Grab your cookie wafers and have a decorating session with various colored icing, sprinkles, and edible decorations. Make animals, shapes, or even your favorite characters. Shape it into fun figures and enjoy a tasty creation.

You can get involved in the fun by entering your own cookie creation using Voortman wafers. The Inspired By Voortman Contest will run online starting May 2 until June 13, 2016. There will be two different categories that consumers can enter: recipes and art creation.

Remember to have fun while being mindful of cleanliness and avoiding excessive food waste.

This is a great activity to do with your kids! So what do you think you will make? An original recipe, like Wafer cupcakes, or an original piece of art, like a Wafer train or edible wafer flowers?
