Around this time every year, I find myself caught in the thick of planning for holiday gatherings. I want to make sure I serve guests tasty treats that are hearty, healthy, and different from the turkey overload experienced during the holidays. That’s where this delicious minted meatball appetizer recipe with a yogurt dipping sauce comes in handy for any party.
Become the Life of the Party with Healthy Holiday Appetizers
At my parties, I serve delicious food that is both heart-healthy and relatively low-calorie, although my guests would never guess it. I prepare appetizers using lean meat, such as Laura’s Lean Beef, which provides naturally lean goodness, packed with protein. Warm, filling and delicious, small lean snacks satisfy the appetites of guests without adding unnecessary calories. Protein-packed appetizers pair perfectly with healthy dips, casseroles and vegetable platters, allowing guests to enjoy party treats while keeping their eating on track – even during the holidays.
My Minted Meatballs with Yogurt recipe makes for a healthy holiday party appetizer. The combination of lean beef and lamb is a great twist on the traditional meatball. Substituting mint for the usual basil or parsley in these meatballs adds an additional kick of flavor. This recipe makes 50 one-bite meatballs. This meatball appetizer recipe is quick and easy to prepare, even ahead of time (cook, cool and refrigerate or freeze; the meatballs reheat well), leaving more time to relax and enjoy the company of friends and family.
