I love growing my own garden each year. I really look forward to planting and to harvesting my own food. In part because it is fun but also because it is healthy and a green choice. I love feeling the spring arrive and I love getting the garden beds ready for planting. I love watching the plants grow and I love my kids reaction when they see fruits and veggies starting to form and grow larger. Gardening is fun. Organic gardening is an even healthier and greener choice. Nothing beats fresh veggies that are free from pesticides straight out of the garden. There is way more flavor in garden veggies than store bought. I can taste the difference. This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Organic Choice for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Miracle Gro Organic Choice Garden Soil Review
This year, I was fortunate enough to get to try out some Organic Choice fully organic Scotts gardening products. I received one bag of Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice® Garden Soil. The soil is just right for growing beautiful vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs naturally. I used part of it in a pot for my basil which I will keep on my back porch for easy kitchen access. The Organic Choice Garden Soil is a nice consistency that does not get packed down and holds water well. I also like that the soil has natural fertilizers that provide both quick and slow release nitrogen feeding for healthy, fruitful edibles. I used the rest of the Organic Choice Garden Soil to mix into the soil around the root base of a few of my started plants. My intention there is to enrich the soil and keeping it from packing so easily.
Miracle Gro Organic Choice Plant Food Review
I also received one bag of Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice® All Purpose Plant Food. I was really excited about this because I didn’t even know that it existed! The Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice® All Purpose Plant Food comes in a bag with a screw on nozzle so you can easily pour it over your garden. I dig some digging and turned over the top layer of garden soil. I took out the rocks and weeds and I broke up the dirt clumps and then sprinkled the Organic Choice® All Purpose Plant Food liberally over the soil. Next, I added some organic soil and mixed it all up. I plan to use the remainder of the Organic Choice® All Purpose Plant Food in about a month when my plants are starting to fruit. I am really excited about this organic plant food that continuously feeds for up to 2 months and I am looking forward to a more bountiful crop this year.
Planting My Organic Garden
There are so many environmental benefits to organic gardening. There is also so much learning that is done when children get to be a part of the gardening process. Children will also love preparing meals with produce that they have grown themselves. One of my favorite dishes to fix is my garden produce is super easy and delicious- Cucumber and Tomato Salad.
I hope you try growing your own organic herbs and vegetables for making delicious meals with natural, homegrown ingredients! What are some of your favorite plants to grow or that you would like to try growing in your garden?

Scarlet,
This post is so timely for me! I am determined to grow a small garden this year (my first). I know that I’ll start small and that I want it to be organic. Seeing that I know almost NOTHING about starting a garden, I know these products will help me get started well. 🙂
I’m thinking of starting with only a few plants this year: tomatoes, peppers, and maybe beans. Definitely herbs. I have great visions of homemade spaghetti sauce and salsa canned for our eating during the winter. We’ll see. 🙂
Anyway — thanks again for the product rec!
