3 Healthy Overnight Oatmeal Recipes

I hope you have fun trying these three easy, healthy oatmeal recipes at your home.

Before we get started sharing these overnight oats mason jar recipes, I want to address a common question.

What size mason jar for overnight oats?

A lot of people ask what size mason jar to use for overnight oats. Believe it or not, the overnight oats jar size really isn’t that important. You can use any size that suits you really but I think the best jars for overnight oats are 8 oz mason jars. The reason I suggest an 8 ounce mason jar is that makes a perfect single serving size. The recommended serving size for oatmeal is 1/2 cup so once you mix it with liquid at a 1:1 ratio, it fits pretty perfectly. The overnight oats jar recipes below make two servings and they call for two 8 oz mason jars.

Do you have to make overnight oats in a jar?

Absolutely not. You can use a bowl or tupperware or whatever suits you best but jars are nice because they are made of glass. This means they don’t interact with your food, they are easy to reuse, and they come with a lid. If you don’t have any mason jars, you can just use regular jars. It is easy to make overnight oats in a peanut butter jar or a jelly jar.
