My husband had a work conference to attend in Florida so the kids and I tagged along. What a great vacation! The beach was fabulous and on the way back we stopped at Disney World. As you may know, Disney World is actually divided into four parks. They all looked super fun but we could only spend one day there so we had to pick which one would be best for the kids. In the hotel elevator we met a family that had been to Disney 12 times so I asked the pros which park was best for my young kids (4 and 6). The parents said “Magic Kingdom” but the 8 year old girl said “Hollywood Studios!” We decided to go with the little girl’s favorite! Here is what Disney World Hollywood Studios was like with small children.
Best Parts Of Visiting Disney Hollywood Studios Orlando
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Theme Park was so much fun! We attended the Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream Attraction and it talked about how his vision for a theme park all came out of wanting to have have something fun to do with his daughters that was fun for all of them. Well, Disney successfully achieved that mark because this trip To Disney’s Hollywood Studios really was so much fun for all of us!
Disney Hollywood Studios Rides
Disney World Star Tours
My son’s favorite ride was Star Tours. This ride was certainly a thrill for all of us and we went on it twice by popular demand! “The power of the Force and the magic of Disney combine in a new experience launching on May 20, 2011. Experience new adventures complete with new Star Wars destinations and out-of-this-galaxy characters like C-3PO, R2-D2 and Darth Vader. Now in digital 3D!” The great thing about these rides at Disney is that they really get into the experience of it and even waiting in lines takes place largely inside, air-conditioned, and in character. They also have great props outside so you can get your some great photos (see above)!
Disney World Tower of Terror
My husband’s favorite ride was the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. “Terror lurks in the crumbling walls of the once-glamorous Hollywood Tower Hotel. Explore the mysteries of what happened one fateful and stormy night, then plunge 13 stories into the thrilling recesses of The Twilight Zone.” Wow talk about your stomach dropping out!
Disney World Muppet Vision 3D
My 6 year old daughter’s favorite part of Disney World Hollywood Studios was the Muppet Vision- 3D. We had to do that one twice too! They loved the 3D and I loved watching them try to grab the things that came out of the screen. They also had muppets come out of the movie into the theater and the kids loved that too!
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
My favorite part of the Disney Hollywood Studios Orlando park was the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. It was really fun to see the behind the scenes making and such terrific stunts up close! I found it pretty amazing!
And that is just one small sampling of all the fun Attractions and Rides at Disney Hollywood Studios! If you are planning your first trip to Disney, from rides that the whole family will love to amazing live performances, there is definitely something for everyone. We put in a full 9 hour day of having fun and still didn’t fit in every attraction there!
Tip To Spend Less Time Waiting In Ride Lines
If you are planning a trip, they have a great feature that reduces time spent waiting in lines- FastPass. You just slip your Park Pass into the FASTPASS machine to receive a ticket with an assigned return time and enjoy the rest of the Park while Disney’s FASTPASS service saves your place in line! Have fun and let me know about your trip if you have been or plan on going!
I did use two media passes towards our visit. I did not receive monetary compensation and all opinions expressed are my own.

Excellent post. My family went about 2 years ago and are heading down this year again. My girls are now 9 and 11 and both loved it. We spent a day at each park and planned the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on our first visit and the girls loved it! We won’t be doing that again but will be spending a few days there in the Winter so we can see the Christmas lights.
