I like to eat healthy food that tastes good too. My mom is a health nut and much of it has rubbed off on me. I think eating food that is good for you makes you feel good and keeps you healthy and those things are very important to me- for myself and for my family. I try to fit a lot of protein and vegetables into my diet but it can be hard when you are on the go or you only have a short lunch break. That is why I was so happy to learn about the all new Birds Eye® Protein Blends that add protein-packed beans and whole grains to your favorite vegetable sides! I will also share my children’s Birds Eye Steam Fresh Protein Blends Review. Their favorite is the Birds Eye Power Blend Italian Style.

The Healthy Benefits Of Protein And Vegetables In Your Diet

Protein is an essential element of our diets as we must have protein for our bodies to function properly. Consuming protein is important to help prevent lean muscle mass loss and our bodies use protein to make enzymes, hormones, and other important body chemicals. High-protein diets are known for their fat-reducing benefits. Clearly, there are many health benefits of protein.

Vegetables are also important to a healthy diet because they provide many nutrients such as potassium, folate (folic acid) and vitamins A, E and C. They are also an excellent source of fiber which is important to keeping our digestive systems functioning well. Eating a diet rich in vegetables as part of an overall healthy diet may reduce risk for heart disease, including heart attack and stroke and may protect against certain types of cancers. So you know the healthy benefits of protein and vegetables but you want an easy way to get proteins and vegetables? Well, you are in luck. I just discovered a new totally easy way to get the healthy benefits of protein and vegetables in my diet- the all new Birds Eye® Protein Blends.

Birds Eye® Protein Blends Are An Easy Way To Get More Protein And Vegetables In Your Diet

Birds Eye protein blends

I know first hand that it is easy to get busy and sometimes you have to grab a quick meal and you don’t always have enough time in the day to prepare protein and vegetable-rich meals. Some days my son has basketball practice and I have to throw a quick meal together for him and most days I only stop for a short lunch because I have so much work to do. Well, I am happy to have found out about the new Birds Eye® Protein Blends they make it easy for my family and I to get more protein and vegetables in our diet, even when we don’t have a lot of time.

Are Birds Eye Protein Blends Healthy?

New Birds Eye® Protein Blends combine protein-packed beans, whole grains, and vegetables into one easy to prepare dish! They can be found in the frozen vegetable aisle at most grocery stores and Walmart. I think they are an easy, healthy choice. They have 10 grams of Plant-Based Protein per serving and they are a good source of Vitamin C & iron.  I also like that they contain no artificial preservatives, artificial colors, or artificial flavors.

You can find them on the frozen side of the aisle in your local grocery store, which is great for food safety. They come in a 11.5 ounce bag with a steamfresh special vent built into the unopened bag.

Because you store them frozen, they are easy to have on hand for any time you want to easily add more protein and veggies in your diet. They are available in the following flavors: California Style, Italian Style, Asian Style, and Birds Eye Power Blend Southwest Style. Each variety varies but they have about 15 grams of protein per serving. It is easy to find a protein-rich option to suit your taste.

Birds Eye Protein Blends Review (Update: Name Has Changed To Birds Eye Power Blend Italian Style)

Birds Eye Protein Blends Italian Style Review

The Birds Eye® Steamfresh® Protein Blends Italian Style is a delicious blend of whole grains, lentils, spinach, broccoli, white beans, and sauce. Today I was running behind and I was starving and I was so happy to have the Birds Eye® Protein Blends Italian Style on hand because it cooks up in about 5 minutes. I just put the frozen bag directly into the microwave for 5.5 minutes and then I let it cool for 1 minute. I dished it out into a bowl and served it with a slice of bread. It could not have been easier and it tasted great. My 10 year old daughter and I loved it. She said she really like the garlic parmesan sauce and so did I. She said, “I could eat this forever.” Wow! I wasn’t expecting that but I was so happy to be able to whip up something healthy for us both in just about 5 minutes and it is such a great price.

Protein Blends Italian Style

I think these Birds Eye® Protein Blends would come in handy for anyone wanting to get more protein and vegetables in their diet but I am extra excited because we try to eat less meat in our household (it is a greener choice). My daughter takes it a step further and she is vegetarian. Fixing dinner for my meat loving husband and for my vegetarian daughter can be a real challenge. Not any more! I am so excited to have an easy option for protein and vegetables that actually tastes good.

Our second favorite one is the bold southwest-inspired flavor of the Birds Eye® Southwest Style Power Blend. It features whole grains (brown rice and white quinoa), lentils, black beans and mixed vegetables, including corn and red bell peppers and a zesty sauce. It is a great way to save time on dinner prep. Would you like to try this flavorful addition to your dinner plate?

Birds Eye offers easy prep and is a healthy and delicious way to increase your daily value of nutrients from veggies. So what do you think? Do you struggle to get enough protein and vegetables in your diet? Which Birds Eye® Protein Blend sounds like your favorite?

I love to pop this kind of thing in the microwave for lunches. I will definitely be trying these protein blends. The birds eye power blend Italian style sounds like a winner.
