Quick Halloween Costumes

These fun and easy homemade Halloween Costume Ideas are great for teenagers who want to whip up a quick, fun costume without too much effort.

•Zippy Zombie: If you’re planning your Halloween party last-minute, chances are you haven’t gotten much sleep recently. Cover up those dark circles with even darker eyeliner ones. Make your complexion pasty with some white cream makeup (or use green or purple, if desired), and throw on some old clothes to complete the getup. Add fake blood if you wish.

•Minute Mad Scientist: White coat + vest + hair gel + thick-rimmed glasses + zombie-like makeup = instant mad scientist.

•Where’s Waldo?: Dig out a red striped shirt, a red beanie, and those thick-rimmed glasses again, and pair with jeans and a camera. Magnanimously allow other people to take pictures with you at the party.

•Nick-of-Time Ninja: This costume is simple—wear all black and tie a piece of black fabric around your head. Shazam.

•Nifty Neon Guy: Purchase a package of flexible neon glow sticks. Wear all black, and shortly before the party, crack the glow sticks and tape them to your clothing in the shape of a person.

•Comic Book Character: A little make up and voila you can look like a cartoon. Here is a comic book makeup tutorial.

•Easy Couples Costume: Try this Fairly Odd Parents costume tutorial.

•Cheap Costumes: If you don’t want to create your own costume, many costume stores will slash their prices right before Halloween, giving you a steal of a deal on store-bought getup.

Halloween Party Food Ideas

Whether your guests be ghosts, monsters, or ghouls, these Halloween party food ideas for simple treats are sure to please hungry teenagers.

Here is what to serve at a Halloween party:

  • Wicked Witches’ Hats: Form Betty Crocker’s witches’ hats by sticking a chocolate kiss on top of a round chocolate-covered shortbread cookie with frosting and adding a licorice bow. Find the witches’ hats and more recipes here.
  • Vile Veggie Tray: More great Halloween party ideas are to serve veggies or other snacks on a spiderweb-shaped tray and garnish with plastic spiders.
  • Bubbling Brew: Any cold beverage can be given a little bit of Halloween flair by plunking in some dry ice and watching the mist flow over the sides of the bowl. A (thoroughly washed) plastic cauldron from the dollar store makes a fun container for your drink of choice.
  • Perfect Pumpkin Treats: Mix up a batch of rice krispie treats and dye the marshmallow mixture orange. Shape the rice krispies into balls and stick a Rolo candy on top for a stem. Voila— it’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!
  • Devilish Eye Eggs: Prepare deviled eggs using your favorite recipe. Garnish with cut olives to form eyes.

Halloween Party Ghoulish Games and Activities

Here are someHalloween party ideas to keep your party hoppin’ with a few Halloween activities that don’t require much effort but still promise lots of fun.

•Halloween Movies: Popping in your favorite Halloween movie is one of the easiest things to do for your Halloween party. Some family friendly options include It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, E.T., Casper, Happy Halloween Scooby Doo, Coraline, Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters, Hocus Pocus, Frankenweenie or Harry Potter. Or, if you’d rather, you can make a silent movie that includes all the characters your guests are dressed as. Creative and hilarious! Older teens may enjoy scary films like Halloween with Michael Myers.

•Doughnut on a String: Buy some plain glazed doughnuts and a spool of twine. Tie the doughnuts on a string and hang them in a doorway. Have a contest to see who can eat their doughnut off the string the fastest. No using hands!

•Wrap the Mummy: Divide your guests into two teams and give each team a few rolls of toilet paper. Have one person on each team be the mummy; when you say go, the team that can wrap up their “mummy” completely first wins.

•Tell Scary Stories- Here is a grisly ghost story.

Hahaha – where’s waldo. I haven’t thought about him in years. I went as the unibomber one year. Black hoodie and dark sunglasses were all I needed.
