As a blogger who keeps up with all the latest solutions for concerns mother’s may have, I am excited to tell you all about a new non-invasive cosmetic procedure. It is the new year after all, and many of us want to refresh and start with our best face forward. That is why I was pleased to be invited to learn about Sofwave™ at the Gold Skin Care Center Advanced Aesthetics Medical Spa located in Nashville, Tennessee. Sofwave is a new and award winning non-invasive treatment that revitalizes skin through the stimulation of new collagen and elastin production. I was provided with a Sofwave treatment in order to facilitate my Sofwave review. Here, I will share my experience and answer your questions about the FDA-cleared Sofwave technology.
Sofwave Skin Lifting Treatment For Face And Neck
As a mom who is in her 40s and has two teenagers, I can say that when I look in the mirror, my face has begun to change. I look less recognizable to myself. I know that I am fortunate for each passing year, so I don’t expect to have flawless, wrinkle-free skin. However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t notice my cheeks are beginning to sag and frown lines are beginning to form. Being in my forties, I have also noticed that some friends appear to be aging while others do not. I have become curious about the non-invasive solutions to reducing the appearance of fine lines and loose skin. That is how I first became interested in all the buzz around Sofwave™ .
What Is Sofwave™ ?
“Sofwave™ is the latest technology to revitalize the skin through innovative stimulation of the production of new collagen. Sofwave™’s Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology is FDA cleared for lifting the eyebrow, submental and neck and reducing fine lines & wrinkles.”
So, in other words, Sofwave™ is non-invasive approach to improving your skin’s own collagen production. The Sofwave treatment delivers Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam SUPERB™ technology or ultrasound energy to the precise depth in the skin dermis to rejuvenate collagen fibers. Because of this it is ideal as a skin lifting treatment.

Pros and Cons Of Sofwave Therapy
There are lots of non-invasive cosmetic procedures. So here are some Sofwave pros and cons to consider.
Pros
- Smoother skin in a single treatment session
- Fast treatment ~30-45 minutes
- Minimal downtime
- FDA cleared
- Clinical efficacy
- Non-invasive
- Exceptional safety profile
- Promotes new collagen growth
- Ongoing improvements in the three months after treatment
Cons
- The only con I can think of is price.
The way I see it is above average results are going to cost an above average amount. And if you think of Sofwave as an alternative to plastic surgery, it costs way less while still producing visible results without surgery.
I will go into more details on what Sofwave is, how it works and my review below.
Why Choose The Sofwave Treatment?
Which of the various energy-based technologies and skin care treatments you choose can be a bit confusing. This is because it really depends on your concerns and skin condition. I would recommend a consultation with board-certified dermatologists to help determine the right cosmetic procedures for you.
The Physicians Assistant told me that Sofwave’s breakthrough technology was meant to deal with mild to moderate skin laxity. He said it was particularly great on the lower half of the face. Since my biggest concerns were sagging cheeks and resulting frown lines as well as some mild crepe paper skin texture, he thought a Sofwave treatment would be the perfect way to address those concerns. A good candidate should have some degree of fine lines and wrinkles.
While I had my skin care specialist cornered, I asked him about some of my other skin concerns as well. It was great to hear which non-surgical skin treatment is best for which concerns. For my forehead lines, he suggested injectables and for sunspots he suggested a laser treatment. When I asked him if a laser treatment or a Sofwave ultrasound technology was better to produce more collagen, he said Sofwave was way more effective for the collagen regeneration process. He said many of his patients book both a Sofwave treatment because it is so effective at helping to regenerate collagen and a laser treatment to reduce spots and get a more even skin tone.
Clinically Proven
Being a facts driven person, I love to do research online before I decide on anything. I chose Sofwave as a non-invasive treatment of fine lines and skin lifting because it is clinically proven.
“Sofwave™ is FDA cleared and clinically proven to remodel collagen, which improves facial lines and wrinkles, and lifts the eyebrows, submental, and neck area.”
Alright. I like that kind of reputation and certainty.
Similarly, I looked into the skin rejuvenation center that I used. The Gold Skin Care Center is led by world-renowned Nashville dermatologist Dr. Michael Gold and it has been serving Nashville since 1990. They focus on providing “the most advanced dermatology treatments available while providing the highest level of patient care”.
My Sofwave Review
My single treatment session was very easy. It took just over an hour from start to finish which included me filling out the new patient paperwork. The treatment protocol for this FDA-cleared Sofwave technology started with taking “Before photos”. Because I was not wearing any makeup when I went it, I was able to sit right down in the treatment chair. The Physicians Assistant asked me a few questions and then he reclined my chair.
My provider told me how the Sofwave Device would work and he got started. He gave me an elastic headband to use to keep my hair off my face and then he slathered on the ultrasound gel. He showed me what the wand looks like and explained that he would be using it to deliver high intensity ultrasound waves to the right depth. It would feel like it was heating up and then integrated cooling mechanism would kick in.
The Sofwave treatment started on my jawline near my ear and worked in a pattern across my face. He said it had 3 levels of intensity so he checked with me to see how it felt and made adjustments based on my feedback. As he progressed from my ear toward my mouth the skin became more sensitive. So from hardly feeling anything at all, to approaching an uncomfortable level of heat. He used the lowest setting for my more sensitive areas. He did one side of my face and then repeated the same spots on the other side of my face. Finally, he finished up with a pass along my lower jawline to increase definition in my jowls.
My provider finished up the treatment by applying some sunscreen and telling me that most patients only need one treatment. He said to look for ongoing improvements with most visible results at around a 3-month period from treatment.
After Treatment
There was some redness on the skin surface in the impacted treatment zones while in the treatment chair but by the time I was done it was completely gone. I felt a mild warmness of the skin which actually felt nice when I went outside on a winter’s day. So for me personally, I had absolutely no downtime. You can put on make-up immediately following the treatment, if you wish.
Sofwave Before and After Photos
I certainly can say for myself that non-invasive aesthetic treatments help me slow signs of aging and feel more confident. Having tried this non-invasive procedure out, I am very impressed with the fact that ultrasound waves can pass through the uppermost skin layer and stimulate the healing response with minimal downtime and yet produce such great results.
Here is my Softwave Before and After Treatment photos.
These are on my way into the treatment and on my way out- so just about 1 hour apart from each other. I am wearing no coverup in either photo and as you can see, my skin was ready to go out in public right away.
As far as immediate results go, 1 day out from treatment, I can not yet see a huge difference in overall appearance. However, that is expected as the whole beauty of this skin lifting treatment is that it naturally encourages collagen production. This collagen remodeling process takes time. I plan to update my results here with Sofwave before and after photos at 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months.
Update 1 month after: So those are my results after 1 month. I will say it is harder than you think to take before and after photos with exactly the same conditions! For me personally, I can’t see a huge difference yet. Maybe my worry lines between my eyebrows are less noticeable. Maybe the folds are either side of nose are less pronounced. I certainly am not blown away with the improvements yet. However, Sofwave does say, “the collagen regeneration process can sometimes take up to 12 weeks, so patients are expected to see ongoing improvements in 3 months after their treatment.” And my provider told me to look for the results to keep improving primarily between 3-6 months. So, we shall see.
Update 2 months after: Here are my results after 2 months. These before and after photos are all without any makeup and without any edits. At two months, I am just beginning to think I notice some results. For the first time, I looked in the mirror the other day and thought I noticed a difference. My forehead felt a bit plumper! I think the forehead lines and the in between eyebrow creases are beginning to diminish. I may even be seeing a bit of lift off my eyelids- less eyebrow droop. The improvements are slight at this point but I am eager to see what this next month brings in the way of results from collagen production.
Update 3 months after: At two months I felt forehead improvements and I still maintain those. The wrinkles between my eyebrows are less noticeable as are the wrinkles across my forehead. The folds on either side of my nose also seem less noticeable. The frown lines were my main concern and I have yet to see a lot of change there. I am wondering if my collagen production is a bit slower than most and it is still coming. I will do one more post at 4 months if the expected improvements kicked in.
In the meantime, you can see the clinical trial before and after photos.
Sofwave Costs
“The cost of a Sofwave™ treatment can vary based on geographic location, and from clinic to clinic. Exact pricing should be discussed with your physician before undergoing treatment.”
If you are wondering about Sofwave cost, please speak directly to your provider. The cost for this anti-aging treatment for face varies based on the areas you wish to have done. Whether you want just your jawline, full face, or face and neck will impact the price. The good news is that most patients only need one Sofwave treatment to see improved or very much improved results so you can consider that in your pricing as well.

Thanks for sharing. If it is true that Softwave is safe for all skin tones and types and there are no serious side effects reported then this is a great product. However, I have heard it can be pricey and some people need an additional treatment which of course doubles the price!
