Plus you can add a personalized message to friends and teachers. Create a craft station for your children to create their very own handmade Valentine’s Day cards, including:

  • Colored construction paper
  • Glitter glue
  • Stickers
  • Felt hearts
  • Crayons and markers
  • Glittery felt hearts
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Ribbon

If they aren’t feeling that creative, you can also find always use Pinterest.

Valentine Mailbox

Giving and receiving Valentine’s Day cards with friends, family and classmates is the best part of holiday for children. Creating a fun, one-of-a-kind Valentine Mailbox to hold all their many valentines’ treats will get them even more excited for upcoming festivities. There are some ideas to get you started here.

Use colorful paper bags or boxes and decorate with:

  • Heart-shaped paper doilies
  • Printed duct tapes
  • Glitter Glue
  • Plastic heart gems
  • Felt hearts
  • Markers and crayons

Stain Glass Hearts

You and your children can make beautiful window decorations for Valentine’s Day. To make “stain glass hearts” you will just create the border heart with construction paper and the interior heart with tissue paper that will let the light shine through like stained glass. You will need:

  • Scissors
  • Construction paper
  • Tissue paper
  • Contact paper
  • Glue

Cut out a heart shape outline with the construction paper and place on to sheet of contact paper. Decorate the inside of the heart with different colored strips of tissue paper. Once filled in, place opposite sheet of contact paper on the other side and trim the excess paper around the heart. Hang in window for a lovely Valentines display. You can even make these into a heart suncatcher craft banner.
