I chose to base my Black Bean Avocado Salad Recipe ingredients around yogurt, avocado, ginger, pulses (beans, peas, lentils), and pistachios because, “Research has shown these five foods correlate to lower weight, healthier BMI, and smaller waist circumference.” Thinking about what goes well together, I decided to pick black beans from the pulses category because their flavor goes great with avocado.
Avocados have so many health benefits. If you are thinking but aren’t avocados fattening? Think again. Adding healthy fats to your diet can actually help you reduce your body fat. In fact, “Avocados, which are high in omega-3 fatty acids, can break down fat deposits around your waistline and reduce weight gain.” The yogurt and ginger lend themselves well to a dressing to which I added a few other ingredients for flavor- all of which are healthy selections. Then you can top with a few chopped pistachios as a garnish and to add a bit of crunch to this belly fat burning recipe.

Arrange avocado slices over your beds of black beans by fanning out half of your avocado slices on each plate.
Place them in the fridge to chill for a couple of minutes while you make the sauce.
