10 Easy Art Projects For Kids

We all want to show off our children’s art work and let them know how proud we are of their drawings and creativity. Let’s be honest though, not every drawing is refrigerator material. Here are some easy art projects for kids that they will enjoy and that you will be able to display with pride.

Coordinate and plan art projects for kids ahead of time to make them easier to do and get better results. Make a plan for something that can be framed, placed on a mantle, or used as a centerpiece. You can even purchase or set aside only the colors that blend in the room or space you want to use to display the art project in and give your child guidance as to what you want. Or you can just let them have at it and then find the best display spot to match their art project choices.

10 Easy Art Projects For Kids

3D Canvas Art

Here are two great examples of structured easy art projects for kids. One 3D canvas art where they find things in nature to create objects such as trees for autumn; kids can find twigs to use and then choose the elements for the leaves and glue everything together. The second is a very creative idea, similar to how you find shapes in the clouds. Kids can make shapes from all the different colored and shaped leaves. If you aren’t in an area with lots of colored leaves, try it with shells.

Stamps and Stencil Art

Stamps and stencils is one of my favorite easy art projects for kids that are preschool age. It can help with crispness and uniformity. Using stampers and stencils can give your children a base to work from and with the extra guidance, some really amazing “art work” can emerge. Remember that stencils do not only have to be painted or colored in, they can also be done using glue and colored sand for a fun effect. Also see the creative stamp art done with a recycled soda bottle instead of rubber stamps.

Handprint and Footprint Art

Handprint and footprint designs are some of the most adorable and easy art projects for kids I have ever seen. Incorporating animals or other designs around your children’s hands or feet make for very artful conversation pieces. Using colors that match your room will increase the design element. I just love this butterfly footprint art and I bet your little ones will too.

Planter Art

Planter projects make great easy art projects for kids and decorations for your house. Think outside the box when it comes to making a craft project out of household items and turning them into children’s artwork that anyone would be proud to display; they even make great gifts.  Flower pots and other containers painted with chalkboard paint can become instant art work used for indoor house plants or to hold household items.  I just love these polka dot chalkboard flower pots.
