Erika Wassall, the Jersey Farm Scribe here with Creepy Gross Halloween Recipes For A Spooky Spread! I love this time of year.  Candy.  Costumes.  Scary movies.  Knocking on strangers’ doors and getting free stuff.  I mean, does it get better that this?

Creepy Gross Halloween Recipes For Spooky Fun

final

I also love making food that looks horrifying.  It’s just… FUN.  These are great for kids parties, OR adult parties, as these ideas (baring one) have a pretty good ICK factor.  A few of these Creepy Gross Halloween Recipes, REALLY aren’t for the faint of heart!

I have to start with my absolute favorite Creepy Gross Halloween Recipe!

Witchy Finger Cookies

witch finger cookies

With an almond shortbread cookie, some slivered almonds, red icing and a few mini chocolate chips, you can make some pretty impressive cookies that ACTUALLY look like fingers.  And it’s not hard.  I won’t lie… it’s somewhat time consuming, so if you’re looking for a quickie… check one of the other ideas.  But the cookies are delish and I promise you a reaction people will remember year after year!!

Check out the tutorial I wrote last year right here on the Family Focus Blog:  HERE

Gross-Out Intestines Pastry

Intestines

Wow.  Yeah.  These are intense looking.  I tried it and it came out amazing and yummy.  I got this idea from the WannaBite website, who says that even some of the adults wouldn’t take a bite… which I could see.  I am 100 percent making this Creepy Gross Halloween Recipe again for Halloween night.

We’re basically talking puff pastry ripped up, rolled up with some chocolate (or whatever), curled into a dish with a little red/blue food coloring paint.

Genius.

You can find a great tutorial on this site including a bunch of great pictures:

HERE

Eyeball Pizza

Eyeball pizza

This is an easy and fun one for any family.  A quick throw together. Take any pizza (sure, you could make your own, but you could also just buy a plain frozen pizza), then get some salami, fresh mozzarella, slice it up, toss a few on top, and include a black olive slice.

Easy-peasy, fun, and the silly type of gross that still holds a bit of an ICK factor.

You can find detailed directions at FroggleBlog:  HERE

Bananas and Clementine Oranges

nanas and clementines

Looking for healthy because you’re overloaded on sugar?  Check this out:

Yeah… bananas with tiny chocolate chips for eyes/mouth (or just eyes)  And yeah, you could us raisins, but come on… a little more chocolate won’t hurt!  Personally, I sliced them in half length-wise, stuck a popsicle stick in the bottom, and popped them in the freezer!  Yum!

And then clementine oranges with a tiny piece of celery as a pumpkin stem.  I want to make those darn things every day they’re so cute.

Not scary folks.  Even the ghosts, just not scary any way you cut it.  But adorable, simple and creative enough to make list anyway.

Great tutorial from DailyLeisure.com she even gouged out holes for the chocolate chip eyes!

Band-Aid Graham Crackers

Band-Aid

Graham Crackers + white cookie frosting + red gel frosting = super unique, quick (and cheap!) party idea.  I’ll be honest.  I haven’t tested this one, because I just don’t see any way this could fail.

Graham crackers?  Good.  Icing?  Good?  Crackers that look like Band-Aids???  GOOOOOOD.

(I do suggest using cookie frosting for the white part though, it’ll dry harder)

I’m happy to credit me finding this recipe to: Devilish Delists and Sinfully Good Treats!  At this link:  HERE

So that’s what I have for you today.  After a week of all kinds of horrible looking foods going through my kitchen, these are my top five Creepy Gross Halloween Recipes, from benign Band-Aids to the terrifying Witchy Fingers and from the adorable Clementine pumpkins to stomach turning intestine pastries, I am confident there is a Halloween treat here for everyone!  Which Creepy Gross Halloween Recipes are your favorite?

As much as we love Halloween, I think the intestines might be over the top for my family. The eyeball pizza and the band-aid graham crackers will work, though. Going to have to try one or both.

Thrilled both of you found ones you like. Thanks for stopping by. (and yeah, the intestines are INTENSE! lol)

So far the eye-ball pizza seems to be the favorite. Any other voters???

Those intestines are so gross, but so cool at the same time.

I don’t think I could do the edible intestines, but spaghetti as ‘brains’ was popular growing up. I’m more of a fan of cute Halloween food, rather than gory.
