Homemade Tea Body Polish
All you need is a few simple ingredients (that you probably have around the house). 1/3 cup loose-leaf tea, Rooibos or Green is best. Both teas are full of antioxidants. If you don’t have loose-leaf tea, just cut open and empty out 8-10 tea bags. Place them in a bowl with 1/3 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup coconut oil (slightly warmed in the microwave to melt), and the zest of 1 lemon. Mix all the ingredients together and put in a decorative jar or canister for mom. She can use it to polish dry skin from her feet, hands, elbows, and even chapped lips. She may also love DIY green tea bath bombs. This mother’s day gifts from kids will make mom feel pampered.
Personalized Tote Bags
Pick up some plain, undecorated, canvas tote bags at your local craft store along with some fabric paints and brushes. Your kids can make mom a personalized bag for groceries, library books, or shopping by painting their own designs or special messages on the bags. This is also a great idea for decorative wine glasses and mugs – your kids can make personalized wine glasses and mugs by painting them with glass paints. If you want to stay away from messy paints, you can personalize a bag by adding felt buttons or pom poms.
DIY Succulent Garden
A succulent garden is a fun, trendy mother’s day gifts from kids. Stop by your local discount store or Goodwill to find some cute teacups or small, decorative bowls. With a few small succulents and potting soil from a nursery, your kids can make mom a mini garden. Add some extra accents like decorative rocks or mini garden décor.
If mom likes to plant her own decorative pots for the deck, get some clay pots and saucers along with a variety of paints and brushes. Your kids can paint their own garden-themed designs on the pots for mom. They can embellish their designs with buttons and gemstones and other decorative items they find.
Make mom a personalized journal. Stop by your local craft store for composition notebooks, scrapbook paper and decorative duct tape. Use a pencil to trace the front cover on the back of one sheet of scrapbook paper. Trace the backside on the back of a second sheet of scrapbook paper. Cut out and use a glue stick to attach them to the front and back covers of the notebook. Cut a piece of duct tape the same length as the notebook and wrap it across the front and back of the spine. Your kids can personalize it even further by drawing on the pages or adding stickers to the cover. They can even use bullet journal layout ideas to create fun headers for some of the pages.
With these fun and easy crafts, your kids will be proud to express their gratitude with these gifts and mom will enjoy using them! If you are a mother, what have been your favorite mother’s day gifts from kids?
